Strengthening solidarity through sports and culture!
The PPI UK Olympics is an annual sports and cultural event organized by the Indonesian Students Association in the United Kingdom (PPI UK). Designed by students, for students, it serves as a platform to nurture talent, expand networks, and strengthen solidarity among Indonesian students across the UK.
The event consists of two main stages: the Preliminary Round and the Awarding Night. The Preliminary Round features a variety of sports competitions, including football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, and e-sports, alongside an Arts & Culture Competition in photography, Cerdas Cermat, singing, and the Indonesian Arts & Culture Campaign. To accommodate students from different cities, matches are held in multiple locations, such as London, Edinburgh, Liverpool, and Sheffield. In 2024, the PPI UK Olympics attracted around 500 participants, reflecting its growing popularity within the Indonesian student community.
The excitement peaks during the Awarding Night — an evening dedicated not only to announcing the final winners but also to celebrating Indonesian culture through special performances from talented Indonesian students and the Indonesian Food Bazaar, showcasing traditional Indonesian food.
More than just a competition, the PPI UK Olympics is a celebration of community, talent, and cultural pride. It unites Indonesian students in the UK, fostering friendships and creating lasting memories, all while highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and national identity.
